God is with you

Today's devotional is based on God's Word found in Joshua 1:9 (NIrV)

"Here is what I am commanding you to do. Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid. Do not lose hope. I am the LORD your God. I will be with you everywhere you go."

Amen, thank you LORD.

God had a big assignment for Joshua which was to lead God's people to the promised land.

God chose Joshua as the next leader for the children of Israel after Moses' death. However, God did not want Joshua to focus on the size of the assignment but only on His presence. God wanted Joshua to remember that He would be with Him everywhere He went.

At the same time, God also told Joshua that it was important that He read the Scriptures as well. This would help Joshua to be strong and brave. Today, God is telling you, just like Joshua, that His presence is with you and there is no need to be afraid of trying out new things or going to new places.

Take away: Reading the Word of God gives me strength and makes me brave.

Prayer: Father God, thank you that before I go anywhere, you go ahead of me so I do not have to worry or feel afraid when going to a new place or trying something new. Thank you God that I have Your presence with me all the time and by reading Your Word, You make me brave and strong in everything I do in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
