Today's Word is from Psalm 119:105 (NKJV)
"Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
Amen, thank you LORD.
In today's devotional, God is reminding us that when we spend time reading the Bible, we are in turn spending time with Him. Let us think together for a moment, when something good happens in your life, who is the first person you want to share the good news with? As we spend time reading our Bibles, we get to learn more about God and His Son, Jesus. Jesus is like that Friend who always looks forward to spending time with us and the best way to spend time with Him is by reading our Bibles. As we do this, Jesus becomes that close Friend who cannot wait to tell us exciting news filled with good things.
Today's Bible verse tells that God's Word is a lamp to our feet which means it protects us and makes sure we do not fall down or make mistakes. Today's Word also tells us that it is a light to our path which means it guides and gives us direction. I want you to think of a treasure hunt. Most times, we have to read a treasure map in order to find the hidden treasure. So when we read the Bible, it becomes a map that leads us to all the good treasure that God has prepared for us.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for this Word. Thank you that You are giving us the ability to read our Bibles everyday. Give us understanding as we read our Bibles. Thank you Father that You are putting Your light in our paths that protects and guides us helping us to find all the good treasure You have prepared for us in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
