Read your Bible and pray everyday

When I was young, there was this song we were taught in school and it goes, "Read your Bible, pray everyday. Pray everyday. Pray everyday. Read your Bible, pray everyday if you want to grow."

How many of us want to grow everyday? - I DO. I know you want to grow as well.

All over the Bible Jesus encourages us to read our Bibles and pray everyday. In the book of Joshua, is a mighty man who led the children of Israel to the promised land. God told Joshua that if he wanted to get good results as a leader of the people, he had to read the book of the law everyday during the day and in the night.

The LORD God tells Joshua in Joshua 1:8 (NIrv): "Never stop reading this Book of the Law. Day and night you must think about what it says. Make sure you do everything that is written in it. Then things will go well with you. And you will have great success."

We also see that when we read our Bibles both in the day and at night, we get wisdom and courage that come from reading God's Word. When we read God's Word, He gives you the direction and knowledge to do what needs to be done like starting and finishing your tasks well and on time. When we read the Word of God, God also gives you the strength to do your tasks and He says everything you do will go well and you will have great success - AMEN!

Let's pray: Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me the ability to remember to read my Bible and pray everyday in the name of Jesus. Thank you LORD that as I read the Word, You have blessed me with confidence, wisdom and strength for each day for all the tasks I have to do in the name of Jesus. Just like You were with Joshua, You LORD are also with me and have blessed me great success in everything I do, in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
